We have another great night of live music lined up for you Upstairs at the Red Lion, Manningtree on Saturday 23rd March 2024.

We are pleased to welcome back the Spikedrivers with Fran McGillivray and Mike Burke who will be joining forces to present their Blues and Gospel Revue - "Saints and Sinners".

It is now over five years since Saints and Sinners last played at the Red Lion. In that time the Spikedrivers have cemented their reputation as one of the leading and most innovative blues acts in the country and Fran McGillivray has deservedly been recognised as one of the leading female blues singers with appearances on the Blues Show on Radio 2.

Inspired by influences such as Son House, Muddy Waters, Ma Rainy and Sister Rosetta Tharpe - Ben Tyzack, Constance Redgrave, Maurice McElroy and Roger Nunn from the Spikedrivers with Fran McGillivray and Mike Burke present Saints and Sinners, a concert exploring the space and harmony between spiritual music and ‘the devil’s blues’.

Six voices, a multitude of guitars, percussion and even some homemade instruments create a world of soul, stories and soundscapes.

Join us for a foot-stomping, gut-wrenching, heart-soaring journey from the cross to the crossroads and all points in between.
