DOC SCOTT (31 RECORDS)
The original “King of the Rollers,” Doc Scott is arguably one of the legends of the the drum and bass scene. From Reinforced to Metalheadz to his own label, 31 Records, he has pioneered the sounds we know as drum and bass today and continues to lead the way forward. As an artist, he has been responsible for some of the scene’s defining moments including hardcore classics ‘NHS’ and ‘Here Come the Drumz’, ‘Shadowboxing’ and, in his Nasty Habits guise, ‘Liquid Fingers’. As a label owner, he has strived to release music that pushes boundaries with releases such as Marcus Intalex’s ‘ How You Make Me Feel’ and the smasher ‘Vault’ by Pendulum. First and foremost, however, Doc Scott remains a DJ whose sets are second-to-none, effortlessly crossing the full spectrum of drum and bass and igniting dancefloors with fresh and inspirational sounds.
In 2009, Doc Scott has already toured Australia, New Zealand and South Asia and began a new residency at the A Bunch of Cuts London club night while 31 Records continues to go from strength to strength with the ‘Quality over Quantity EP’ due out in July.
LYNX (SOUL:R)
Since emerging at the forefront of the drum & bass scene in 2007, Lynx has established a reputation for high quality productions with an innovative edge and DJ sets to match. Soul:r, Creative Source, Digital Soundboy and Bingo are just some of the leading labels he’s released on and are proof that his sound is not only fresh but diverse. Reinventing drum & bass from the ground up, Lynx’s funk-fuelled sets have gained a reputation for smashing stereotypes as well as dancefloors and, like his productions, appeal to clubbers across the spectrum.
With massive tracks including ‘Disco Dodo’ and ‘Global Enemies’ already under his belt, Lynx has clearly demonstrated he’s not afraid to break the mould whilst staying true to his own style. The debut album from Lynx & Kemo MC tells it’s own story and, with a potent mix of beats, rymes and basslines, ‘The Raw Truth’ showcases the best of these two talented artists.

SPECTRASOUL (EXIT / METALHEADZ)
With the Drum and Bass market in a state of complete over-saturation, it takes originality, class, and an understanding of quality control to get ahead. Having emerged from relative obscurity in 2006, SpectraSoul, have emerged as one of the new-school pioneers on the drum and bass circuit. 2008 saw the release of their much-anticipated underground anthem “Alibi”, which tore up dance-floors worldwide. Alongside this, 2008 also marked the release of SpectraSoul’s “Peninsula” and “The Tube”, both featured on Friction’s Shogun Audio imprint.
The duo show no signs of slowing in 2009, with scheduled releases for Goldie’s seminal Metalheadz Label, Teebee’s Subtitles, D-Bridge’s Exit Recordings, and, of course, further releases for Shogun audio and Critical Recordings.
RANDOM MOVEMENT (Innerground)
With tours that hit festivals and clubs spanning 4 continents, Random Movement's DJ style is in high demand, taking you on a journey through the best of old and new Drum & Bass, touching on soulful, deep, uplifting and forward thinking music from top notch producers as well as up-and-coming new artists. His schedule has been filling up rather quickly these days due to his ongoing devotion to his newly launched podcast (available at www.randommovement.org), the Random Movement Radio show on Bassdrive.com, as well as writing and collaborations with such artists as S.P.Y, Mixmaster Doc, Redeyes & Marky, to name a few. With tracks already released on Bassbin, Innerground, Liquid V, CIA and Integral, his forthcoming album due on DJ Marky's imprint has turned many heads to his unique skill at keeping that soulful, smooth and sleazy vibe in his songwriting and production. Be sure to keep an ear to the ground for his already lengthy list of remixes, singles and tour dates, as well as the Random Movement LP due in early 2010! Don't miss it!
