Colour presents a rare solo performance by Willy Vlautin, lead singer and songwriter of Portland based Americana/ alt. country band Richmond Fontaine. The set will draw on his band's extensive back catalogue, including material from last year's acclaimed album We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like a River, which Uncut magazine described as "raw, autobiographical brilliance" and saw the band move further into the mainstream consciousness.
Aside from his work with Richmond Fontaine, Vlautin has drawn great acclaim for two works of prose fiction that have drawn favourable comparisons to Raymond Carver and Charles Bukowski. His third, Lean on Pete, is released on 8 February and is about a young boy trying to make his own way in a harsh world, yet it is filled with the hope that courses through his music and writing.
"All around, Willy Vlautin is becoming one of America's most fundamental artists in words and music." - Mojo Magazine
"A fabulous addition to the all-too-slim canon of passionate, literary rock 'n' roll" - The Guardian
Please Note: This show is in an intimate setting and tickets are limited, so advanced booking is advised.
