Sunday Lunch at The Underground Restaurant
Menu undecided.
The Underground Restaurant is a pioneer in the UK supperclub movement.
MsMarmitelover (marmitelover.blogspot.com) will cook you a home cooked meal on the Aga in her beautiful shabby chic home.
Tables are mixed, so feel free to come on your own, you will be able to sit with others.
Please arrive on time because it leaves gaps at the tables and wastes food if you don't turn up.
There is no refund once you've booked as ingredients have already been purchased.
Strict vegetarians let me know at theundergroundrestaurant@gmail.com 4/5 days beforehand. I'm no longer catering for dairy free/gluten free types. Most of them are making it up anyway. If you are for real, then come on a night where I'm doing curry or something naturally vegan. It just makes it too hard when already my 'palette' is restricted by no meat. Some themes may be inappropriate for those with food allergies (like the woman who booked for the Elvis meal but wanted low fat food huh?).
There is never any meat but there is sometimes fish.

Service: teenage goth will sometimes be in residence

Corkage is £5 a bottle of wine. You may think this is unfair but you have been told beforehand therefore don't come if you don't like it. Or bring your own glasses, not plastic ones. Beer, soft drinks, no corkage. If you order your wine from http://www.tengreenbottles.com/?page_id=1280 corkage is included and you save a pound.
It's a home restaurant therefore service is not like in a conventional restaurant.
You get seconds if there is enough.
You may get told off for not eating up your dinner.
Many dishes are served family style.
You can come and have a look at the kitchen after the main course is out.
Meals are generally comprised of a welcome cocktail and at least 4 courses.
The Summerhouse is available for private parties for a supplement. Great place for that special date - there's even a bed.
If we have a decent summer we will put tables outside in the garden. Don't hold your breath.
Concessions are for those on benefits or disabled.
