ROYAL TREATMENT PLANT + LOS + GIN PANIC
Presented by: 93 Feet East0 | LONDON: 93 Feet East |

P | Wednesday 28th April, 2010 |
N | 7:30pm |
Hailing from Oxford, the 2 girl/2 boy THE HALF RABBITS sound like all the strongest bits of intelligent art-rock like Muse, Shellac and iliketrains, crossed with the darker, poppier ideas from Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies and Joy Division. Driven by their passion for creating music that comes from the heart, they've so far received critical acclaim from people like Rolling Stone and Drowned in Sound. Live, the band are fierce and commanding. They've gigged with an array of legendary bands, including Editors, We Are Scientists, The Enemy, The Young Knives, Tapes n Tapes, The Duke Spirit & you get the idea. They also headline gigs themselves, including four times at the fabled O2 Academy in Oxford.
ROYAL TREATMENT PLANT
LOS "Everyone's attention is held for a set that moves from the riotous to soulful and back again. It's beautiful, the honeyed razor blade vocals, the swiping guitar, the rich toned drums; just beautiful. The Miller's Arms won't forget the buzz in that little back room for a very long time" www.lincolnbands.co.uk "keeping you in a headlock for four minutes until it, without warning, leaves you wondering what the hell just happened. A cymbal, a bass drum, some feedback. Chills. Tiny details, huge result. when Los get their canons adjusted, it could be oh so heavenly" www.musikknyheter.no
GIN PANIC Piecing together jerky, discordant, misbehaving pop compositions alongside a swirling, uneasy sense of impending collapse and epic noise climax's, GIN PANIC have been evolving since their conception in the year 2000. Formed in a dimly lit, disused brewery in Staffordshire the band rehearsed in-between the huge metallic vats and gigged all over the UK. Now based in London, Gin Panic infuse motorik Krautrock drums, distorted punk bass and soaring post-rock dynamics that ranges from the delicate to the destructive and has earned the band a loyal following.
