Jim Lockey & the Solemn Sun are a country folk punk band from Cheltenham town made up for four lost souls with a passion for politically poetic storytelling. Whilst beginning its life as a solo project for Jim at the close of 2006, the subsequent years have seen him develop strongly as a songwriter and performer, leading him to recruit a cavalcade of the towns best musical talent (including fellow istf label mate Joe and ex-holloh bandmate Phil) to equal the forthright natures of his influences (Bright Eyes, Billy Bragg, Frank Turner). Quote: "Jim Lockey is one of, if not the best, singer-songwriter i met in 2008. Deserves to be massive" Frank Turner.
Oxygen Thief is "one man acoustic loudness" from Bristol. The last couple of years were pretty ace, with a few tours around the UK, a show in New York, and gigs supporting Frank Turner, Dave House, and Frank Turner (again), Malcolm Middleton, Manchester Orchestra, Chris T-T, Johnny Foreigner, and appearances at 2000 Trees and Dot To Dot festivals leading up to the smashing of the "100 ever gigs" barrier. Eschewing singer/songwriter conventions, Bristol based Oxygen Thief is all about the riff, big shouty tunes, and headbanging until your hair comes loose and makes you look a bit trampy. Quotes: "One of the UKs best acoustic acts" cried Punktastic. "Really good, really positive, energetic committed DIY acoustic emotion and bite" exclaimed Org Magazine. "A huge amount of potential" the lovely folks at Rock Sound wrote.
Dave Hughes & The Renegade Folk Punk Band are a Glasgow based band playing Socially aware punk rock political folk music. In the past have toured the UK a few times, and supported the likes of Frank Turner, Chris T-T, Ricky Warwick, Jonah Matranga and Fake Problems.
Judith Harron is a piano playing maiden from Gourock with amazingly wonderful songs. This will be her third show, and hopefully not her last!
