"The Necessary shows Anne's extraordinary inventiveness, vocal flexibility, and theatricality" - Barbara Wilson, Buxton Festival Fringe, July 2010

The economic nightmare has become a strange new reality. Where do we go from here? As part of their first ever London Festival Fringe performance, Oxford-based performing arts company Moving Tone presents a programme of vocal music featuring The Necessary - their whimsical contribution to the global economic policy debate. Performed by charismatic vocalist Anne L Ryan during a lunchtime concert at Shoreditch Church, this experimental vocal theatre piece will offer post-modern light relief for financial indigestion - and some gentle advice for posterity.

The programme will also include other vocal music from Moving Tone's repertoire. The songs, mostly drawn from Irish and Anglo-American folk traditions, are both echoed and unsettled by the electro-acoustic soundscapes against which they are set. Rich vibrations and deep emotions are taken in strange and unexpected directions. Bring your grey cells and your funny bones...
