Event information

THE SOUNDCARRIERS
The Soundcarrier's recently released second LP, 'Celeste', received almost universal critical acclaim (a 4 out of 5 clean sweep across the monthly magazines - Mojo, Uncut and Q) for its unique analog mix of harmonies and groove. A sun-dappled, psychedelic take on 70s motorik pop, they're best described in the words of Professor Justin Spear, 'Exactly where The Soundcarriers were really 'coming from' was long in debate: Nottingham? The West Coast? Saturn? The sound moves between all three locales. It doesn't really matter where you land, the atmosphere is always perfect.' This will be their first London show since the release of 'Celeste'.
"The cool poise of Pentangle and Broadcast, the danceability of Stereolab's French Disko and the oil-wheel swirl of Norwegian neo-shoegazers Serena Maneesh." (Mojo)

THE DEPRECIATION GUILD
The Depreciation Guild are a Brooklyn-based fuzzed-out, reverb-drenched pop group consisting of Kurt Feldman (guitar, vocals, programming), Christoph Hochheim (guitar, vocals), and Anton Hochheim (drums). Kurt and Christoph also play in The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. Drawing inspiration from classic dreampop bands such as Pale Saints and Cocteau Twins, as well as 80's synthpop, the band have recently released their second album 'Spirit Youth'.
"The Guild deal in dreamy fuzz-scapes and swirling guitar washes, frequently striking that mystical and much-sought-after balance between delicate subtlety and crushing heaviness. Their latest is ten tracks worth of gorgeous, wispy melodies embedded in layers of distorted bliss." (Other Music)

FANZINE
Drawing on their childhood love of heavy metal and their penchant for scuzzy bedroom pop, Fanzine may only have a handful of gigs under their belt but they've left a trail of explosive 15 minute sets and terrible 5 minute illustrations in their wake (see their blog). Expect breezy pop songs with a nod to early Teenage Fanclub.
'90s US slacker indie with plenty of Pavement, Weezer and Guided By Voices style riffs' (SoundsXP)
