When was the last time you got to see some really decent live music in West London? Some properly good bands.
The kind that have been chosen by legendary Italian design house Valentino's to front their campaign (Rubicks), been played on the BBC by Huw Stephens, Tom Robinson and Steve Lamacq (Alphabet Backwards) and praised by the NME (End Of Level Baddie). Bands that have rocked out at the birth of pop music The Cavern Club (Projekt) or even broken records by being the youngest band ever to play Glastonbury (The Theory of 6 Degrees). Bands described as too good to be true by UK Music Review (The Volitains), all alongside a debut performance from local talent (Bible John and the Reptiles).
As part of Oxjam 2010, 2 gigs will be taking place at The King's Head, Acton this September, organised by It's All Happening!, west London based promoters and magazine producers.
On Saturday 18th September we are excited to host Rubicks, The Volitains, Projekt and The Theory of 6 Degrees, followed on the Friday 24th September with another stellar line up of End of Level Baddie, Alphabet Backwards and Bible John and the Reptiles.
Oxjam is Oxfam's music festival, with events being organised all over the country, and all proceeds going directly to Oxfam. The bands, The King's Head and everyone else involved, are all very kindly donating their services for free for this great cause.
Excellent live music, cheap tickets, in a great pub, all for charity - what more do you want from your weekend?
Come along and give your support this year!
