This year Audioscope are celebrating our tenth anniversary of raising money for national homelessness charity Shelter.

This year's first show of three is a 'best of' celebration, presenting artists who have previously performed at Audioscope shows from 2001 to 2009 - we're very proud to bring some of our favourite bands back to continue to raise money for Shelter.

We're sad to say that Magnetophone have been forced to pull out of this year's festival, which is a real shame, but we've been working hard to replace them with some top-quality stuff.

Joining the bill for their first ever Oxford show are recent stars of the Primavera Festival, Barcelona's Qaa, who no less an authority than Julian Cope described thus: 'Chi'en is a vast post-post-Krautrock (not Postrock, too much self-confident use of avant-clichés) achievement whose horizon-wide sonic parameters extend seemingly effortlessly from the stentorian percussive outer reaches of Agitation Free and Can to the fully chimped-up ambulence of Sunburned Hand of the Man, Amon Düül and 'Wahn'-period T. Dream, via some truly magnificent guitar burn-ups of the glowing Freerock variety.' Quite a trip, then.

Not content with adding Qaa to the bill, we've also brought back The Oscillation (who played for us in 2008) for another set of psychedelic krautrock joy. When a band lists Miles Davis, Neu!, Silver Apples, Spacemen 3, Suicide and the Jesus and Mary Chain among their influences, you know you're in good company.
