Sprawl celebrates 15 years!

Experimental audio event organisers Sprawl celebrate their 15 years of regular, and occasional projects - including mini-festivals and electic music evenings - since 1996, with this very special night featuring a fantastic and unique line-up of performances.

SIMON FISHER TURNER: Simon Turner, is a musician, songwriter, composer and actor. After dabbling with pop stardom in the early 70s, Simon became an internationally renown film soundtrack composer - writing music for several of Derek Jarman films such as Blue & Carravagio. His recent projects include work with artist Alyson Shotz, scoring the 1924 The Great White Silence, and also the movies Lava, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, William Eggleston in the Real World, Nadja and Un Chant D'amour. Simon also has albums on the Mute label.

VIV CORRINGHAM, PETER CUSACK, CLIVE BELL: Viv Corringham (voice) and Peter Cusack (guitar, saz, samples & electronics) perform songs, mixed with improvisation, and soundscapes created from environmental recordings - all controlled live. Some of the songs are from the Eastern Mediterranean area, others are self written. Peter and Viv first worked together playing Greek Rembetika in London in 1984. They have since collaborated in musics from completely improvised to very structured song, and in groups including Kahondo Style and one formed to write and play music for the Ch4 animation film of Psyche & Eros by Alison de Vere. They have played many concerts, festivals and clubs at home and abroad. Their CD "Operet" is available on Review Records. Tonight they are joined by long term collaborator Clive Bell (flutes, shakuhachi, accordion).
