LONELY DRIFTER KAREN:
Touring their new album 'Fall Of Spring'.
Lonely Drifter Karen was born from the union of three people with very different geographical and musical backgrounds (from folk and rock to cabaret, experimental, classical, indie pop & more).
Started as a solo project by Viennese-born Tanja Frinta while she was living in Sweden, LDK became a band when Tanja moved to Barcelona and met Italian drummer Giorgio Menossi and Mallorcan keyboard player and arranger Marc MeliĆ” Sobrevias. Their sparkling debut album Grass Is Singing was released in 2008 to wide acclaim, and drove Lonely Drifter Karen to perform all around Europe. True to their drifter spirit, Tanja and Marc have now relocated to Brussels, while Giorgio still lives on the sunny shores of the Mediterranean. Fall Of Spring, their second album, is due for release in the spring of 2010.
Their latest album, 'Fall Of Spring' has received fantastic reviews in publications sich as The Observer, Q Magazine and Uncut.
SUPPORT:
ROKSHAN:
Playing piano from the age of 6, and then picking up vocals, guitar, drums, production and now violin, Rokhsan has continued to develop her writing and live performance skills at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, immersing herself in every opportunity made available. Over a period of 3 years Rokhsan played literally hundreds of live shows with the Huw Stephens' recommended Worst Case Scenario label mates, Little Things, as well as showcasing her solo material.
Now at just 23, Rokhsan's solo work has a beautifully crafted charm of folk, soul and pop with a touch of Eastern frailty in her vocal phrasing. This has created a small storm at radio and in A & R circles way ahead of her first single release on Worst Case Scenario records in October 08. In June a performance witnessed by key Radio 1 staff led to a crowd pleasing Glastonbury slot on the BBC Introducing stage. Imminent shows at Bestival and Manchesters In The City, quite simply because they love her, are all clear signs of big things to come.

THE DUFFLEFOLKS:
Made by four beards uniting with cups of tea and a drum machine, The Dufflefolks make electronic music in a cold shed and sometimes a small bedroom. With odd instrumentation such as an autoharp, glockenspiel, kaoscilator and a tenori on, they produce an eclectic sound full of different colours. Be sure to catch them and their beautiful animal costumes.
