Dead Rat Orchestra and experimental filmmaker James Holcombe present 'Tyburnia' a major new touring project using experimental and historical sound, music and film to explore a radical history of 600 years of justice and public execution in England with resonances to current ideas of social justice and austerity.

Castle Hill in Cambridge was the site of the castle and gaol where many executions took place. The tour will include events in locations in this the oldest part of the city.

An evening screening of 'Tyburnia' with live soundtrack by Dead Rat Orchestra, followed by a panel discussion.

An afternoon event created by Bad Timing and the Museum of Cambridge displaying items relating to Cambridge Gaol, Castle HIll and justice in Cambridge.
Professionally guided history walk around Castle Hill area.
Ticket includes refreshments after the talk and free entry to the rest of the museum.

Also a chance to hear Simon Scott's soundwork 'Caxton Gibbet', created at Caxton in Cambridgeshire, another site of execution now overtaken by commercial development.
