“The Brotherhood of Breath fully deserves its legendary status. Founded by pianist-composer Chris McGregor in the late ‘60s, the big band was a joyous, raucous, highly adventurous blend of South African Township and jazz that picked up where the pioneering Blue Notes left off. Township riffs, swing and avant-garde came together in an ensemble that boasted such icons as Dudu Pukwana, Louis Moholo, Evan Parker, Harry Beckett and many others.” Kevin Le Gendre – Jazz Line Up
