NICK HELM
AS SEEN ON RUSSEL HOWARD'S GOOD NEWS and nominated for CHORTLE BREAKTHROUGH ACT 2011.
"Helm demonstrates he is fast becoming a master at his art with a clever and brave routine ... It's impressive... excellent entertainment value... leaves the audience on a massive high...This is worth every penny.” 4 ½ stars British Comedy Guide
"Nick is and up and coming comedian who wears his heart on his sleeve -and it is broken. The energy Nick generates on stage is truly infectious, with his last show being a gorgeous blend of one liners, poems, songs and furious rants about his ex girlfriends. He’s livid and I love him for it." Dave's Top 10 Stand-Ups to Catch in 2011
”Helm is unbridled enthusiasm, whether ranting or celebrating something, it’s the big kid losing all restraint that makes him incredibly endearing.” - CHORTLE
“The real star of the show was Nick Helm, who was, in the best way possible, an excited 12 year old on stage, nervous, energetic and a fan of pointless games.” - Three Weeks

NATHANIEL METCALFE: Enthusiast
Over the last decade Nathaniel Metcalfe has wasted his life indulging his own obscure minor obsessions and now he needs to justify it to you and himself.
Nathaniel Metcalfe has been doing stand up since May 2007, and got through to the semi-finals of the So You Think You’re Funny? competition after only five gigs. In 2010 he got through to the semi-final of the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year and the final of the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year. He is the only resident act at Josie Long’s Lost Treasures of the Black Heart club and supported her on the Manchester date of her current UK tour in January 2011.
Here’s what some people have said about him:
“”brilliant and unusual and very funny” -Josie Long
“Nathaniel Metcalfe is particularly engrossing with a surreal, meandering line of dry observations, delivered in an perfectly unsettling manner. His Sugar Puffs/Honey Monster comment is the stuff of dreams” -Thomas Meek, The List Magazine
“…there was only one that really stood out. That was Nathaniel Metcalfe, an unassuming dude who had just one joke which he stretched out to five minutes, about the theme song to a movie called The Barefoot Executive, starring Kurt Russell and a monkey. It was a doozy.” -Tracer Hand, freakytrigger.co.uk
“There is a touch of the Stewart Lee about his delivery as he employs long pauses, and a great deal of repetition to emphasise his points, but it’s Lee on ecstasy. A friendly, jovial enthusiastic fellow, he did well to take the show to an interval on a high note.” -Corry Shaw, Chortle
“…a brilliant act with some strong, dry yet surreal observations. Thoroughly enjoyable.” -Red Redmond, gigglebeats.co.uk
“…his zany, entertaining and sharp yet silly style.” -Zoe Coutts, freecomedy.co.uk
Come on down for a laugh and a pint.
As with any comedy night due to TV commitments line-ups can change at short notice but we'll always replace like for like. You'll still see the best comedy show from Hanwell to Brentford, Acton to Southall.
