There will also be a raffle (great prizes!) and DJs Frankie and Dave (from Frankie and the Heartstrings). The legendary music venue subject of the film ran in Newcastle upon Tyne from 1985-1999.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

DUBSTAR - As 'The Joans', they were discovered playing a Riverside showcase in late 1993. Their manager then hooked them up with an EMI record deal as Dubstar and UK top 20 hits ('Stars', 'Not So Manic Now', 'No More Talk') followed. Internationally renowned, their last Newcastle live date was at Riverside in 1998, as part of their final UK tour. Now reunited and working on material for a new EP, this gig is their first public appearance for 14 years!

DAVID BREWIS - One of the core members of Field Music and a recording artist in his own right as School of Language, David Brewis plays a rare solo set for us. Played at Riverside in the late 90's with his then-band The Underfoot.

KATHRYN WILLIAMS - Singer/songwriter of much acclaim having released 9 albums, the second of which was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2000. Kathryn was a Riverside member and attended a number of gigs there.

ST JAMES INFIRMARY - Quirky Ashington band, fronted by g.w.lang - a supporter of the Riverside documentary film campaign. Sounds like: "the best minds of our generation destroyed by pop." The band played at Riverside several times.
