BxNU Institute of Contemporary Art presents a half-day symposium exploring the extraordinary world view and unique voice of LA artist Jim Shaw. Jim Shaw’s Imaginarium will examine his work within a context of a pivotal group of influential West Coast artists.

Contributions and presentations by John C Welchman, Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art History/Criticism at the University of California, San Diego, Darcey Steinke, American writer and novelist, Laurence Sillars, BALTIC Chief Curator, David Campbell, Professor of Fine Art at Northumbria University and Ann Goldstein, Director of the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
