Violentango delivers an energetic Contemporary Instrumental Tango, approached through improvisations combining traditional tango themes with rock influences. The music reflects a detailed search for new sounds and rhythms, successfully breaking the boundaries of classical tango structures; yet retaining the very essence of its passion.
Their live performance portrays a dazzling technical display revealing a compelling union between guitar, bandoneon, electric bass and percussion, exuding a mesmerizing stage presence to delight audiences around the world. The band’s style extends beyond the limits of traditional tango structures to discover an ambitiously progressive and experimental sound that has derived from a background of cultural authenticity. Their music resembles a fusion of porteño melancholy and tango rhythms combined with the virtuosity of progressive rock characteristic of the 60’s and 70’s. Influences include The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
