Club Velocity/Mal Function/TBC Promotions presents
What Else Are You Gonna Do On A Saturday? #justsaying

A new idea and concept dreamt up by music promoters Club Velocity, Mal Function and the band Violet Class.
Violet Class headline and choose the other bands on the bills.

What Else Are You Gonna Do On A Saturday? #justsaying main idea is to shake things up a bit, locally.Make the gig experience a bit more special.Make it more of an event. We think
apathy is the filthiest word in the English language. If nothing else we do not just sit in the pub talking about
doing it.

What Else Are You Gonna Do On A Saturday? #justsaying is excited that Reading FC are back in the premiership
all five members of Violet Class are Reading FC season tickets holders. Brian Mcdermott is on the guest list.

What Else Are You Gonna Do On A Saturday? #justsaying is excited that Pretty Green decided to set up their
HQ here in Reading.Liam Gallagher is on the guest list

What Else Are You Gonna Do On A Saturday? #justsaying was not that excited about The Stones Roses reforming-
seemed like the real life rocknroll swindle. John Leckie is on the guest list.

Club Velocity started in March 2003 in Reading and is the premier gig night in Reading.Currently runs four nights a month.
It well known for helping and taking bands to the next level.Bands that played very early shows for Club Velocity-Bloc Party, Glasvegas, Pete And The Pirates, The Cribs, The Rifles et al.

Mal Function is a chap of mystery, a well known face in Reading, though.
It is not really that important who or what he does.

Club Velocity Sid Siddle "Violet Class chased me.They gave me a great speech, they even had a plan, it was
almost like a business plan. They want to do this, do that. They seem to have good contacts at Reading FC and Pretty green,
already.I am always up for an adventure.Lots of bands talk, but they have two masters in the guise of James Mortimer (guitar) and David Storrar (guitar) and I think people should take them and their band seriously. They are very clever and dangerous.I think they are a punk band.In that they are not hanging around, they aren't wasting four years studying music at college.I still believe in the DIY mentality of music, probably more than ever.I really like the idea that they want to get Reading FC involved and also the fashion angle. To me this could be one of the most exciting things I have ever got involved with.I want Kingsley The Lion dancing with Liam Gallagher, or failing
that Reading Elvis with Sir John..........."

VIOLET CLASS.
Maybe be less than a year old.The teenage five piece from Tilehurst, to our ears are a proper band for proper people. They are a punk soul band.Real passion.Seriously do need to check them out.Championed by Stephen Street, Pretty Green and Reading FC.

They are heading into the studio with Paul Tipler asap.Of course you know that Paul has worked on mighty fine records by the likes of Chapterhouse, Idlewild and Elastica.

NOISE TRADE
A couple of our very, very loyal regulars-kept dropping the words 'Noise Trade' into conversation. Finally checked them out over Christmas during a million cups of tea and our new fave TV show on youtube that been Pawn Stars. We think Chumlee and Rick would really, really dig Noise Trade so that is good enough for us.Another solid/good local band that are trying to mix this thing we call guitar music.Hurrah!

TERRICS
Debut gig by these new Reading punks on the block.Very tasty PuinkPOPcore, with side order of indiefuzzness. Lovely.Nearly as
divine as the Get Up Kids.Exciting.They are already slaying hippies.

THE COTTONETTES
Mal Function says they sound like the Buzzcocks on a sunny day, whilst drinking cold beers and eating fish n chips.Listen to this man!
He once saw Crass at Reading Town Hall.Very jealous!
