Celebrating International Women's day, with a twist, this is an event not to be missed.
Miss Danby, in collaboration with 2 For The Road Productions, are proud to present a tour de force female line-up comprising of Electrelane front woman Verity Susman (probing new territory with an epic audio-visual set) PLUS Northern Sensations Lady Caroline Mary (peeping from under her solo stone once again hooray) and Mush (promoting their excellent 7th release Delicatessen). Newly formed, but hotly tipped, band Miss Danby and the What will also be playing.
Roving trio of storytellers, historians and educators The Moss Troopers will provide compéring duties, bringing us tales of womanly woe and treachery throughout the ages.
Verity Susman
****************
After a decade as lead singer of experimental rock band Electrelane, Verity Susman's solo project (facebook.com/veritysusman) probes new territory. Using music, visuals and text, her live shows create a world of psychedelic alienation, embracing the subversive possibilities of awkwardness. Often appearing in drag, her saxophone becomes an organ of musical and gender performance, confronting audiences with a queer female masculinity that is at once serious, humorous, angry and uncomfortable.

Lady Caroline Mary
**********************
Caroline Mary appears to perform songs of animals, allegory, and alcohol accompanied by bonks, squirrels and instruments, from her debut album 'A Tray of Fancies' and from her forthcoming new release 'Do the Shrew'.
It's been a while since '... Fancies' so Lady C is popping her solo shoes back on once again for this event. Taking a break from her other musical adventures - including band of goddesses Iceni and raucous Northern Sensations the Camp Vamps - she returns this time armed with a punnet of fresh new material. Guaranteed to tickle your ear buds, it will be delicious.
She sends her fondant regards...

Mush
*******
Mush return with their seventh release, Delicatessen.
A little like the title, this album has taken a delicate turn, introducing songs about life, love, dementia and murder. These are autobiographical stories from the heart.
Long-term collaborators Nicky Rushton and Sarah Van Jellie team up with friends and family to produce these unique and intimate recordings.
Mush's performances are not to be missed; Nicky's vivid and beguiling live performance is offset by Sarah's irreverent humour and glued back together with general uplifting happiness of drummer Kallie. This band called Mush, however, is not the first group in which these talents have converged, as all three can be found indulging through the years in the subversive delights of the Camp Vamps - and all because the lady love. Sarah Van Jellie spends her days extracting and licking her cute, podgy fingers from her many maverick pies, whilst Nicky Rushton can be found reposing in sunlit rooms, with a stress incontinent dog called Heidi, masterminding the next Mush melodies to come...

Miss Danby & the What
**************************
Already causing quite a stir on the North East music scene, Miss Danby & the What were formed in the summer of 2012 by musician/singer/songwriter Miss Danby. Since 2009 Miss Danby has been building a reputation as an uncompromising explorer on the fringes of the acoustic circuit - her performances becoming synonymous with a powerful vocal range as she suspends audiences with an electrifying talent for playing various stringed things. Her band "the What" keep her in check, preventing her from shaving off her arms whilst losing complete control playing that guitar... you know the one she bartered down from £12 to £10... with a nun, tsk tsk!

The Moss Troopers
**********************
Back in the day, the phrase 'Moss Troopers,' referred to the rogues and vagabonds who wandered the wild borders between England and Scotland. Today it refers to just three such rogues. Formed shortly after the terrible apocalypse of 2012, the Moss Troopers are Jez Hunt, David Silk and Mike Innes.
With their extensive knowledge of the natural world, literature, history and folklore, the Moss Troopers bring stories to life with a sense of humour and a flair for the bizarre and dramatic. They can entertain and inform in equal measure - some of their tales are true, some are ancient myths, and some cross the line between truth, fiction and outright lies!
