We're very pleased to announce that Robbie Boyd will be headlining our next TFFT Live on May 23rd, at The Castle, Manchester!
Robbie Boyd's feel-good folk-pop songs have already earned him national recognition with a live performance on ITV's 'This Morning', to an audience of 1.3 million people. He made the top 20 of MTV's Brand New Unsigned for 2013 and has already toured Argentina, Italy, France, Germany and the UK. Robbie's songs have received lots of UK national airplay on the likes of BBC Radio 2 (Graham Norton), Absolute Radio (Dave Gorman), 6 Music (Tom Robinson) and many more. The Chris Evans Breakfast Show invited Robbie to perform his song 'A London Reminition' at the BBC Radio 2 studio during the 2012 London Olympics.
Robbie and his band have supported artists like The Kooks, Johnny Flynn, and Newton Faulkner and recently played at The O2, for the Country 2 Country Festival, headlined by Tim McGraw. They've performed at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park and Victoria Park. 2012 Festival highlights included Bestival, Wilderness, and Standon Calling among others, while their UK tour culminated in sold out London shows at the Barfly, Borderline and Hoxton Bar & Grill.
Robbie's charming songwriting and distinctive vocals combine with colourful arrangements and nostalgic harmonies, provided by an eclectic mix of talented musicians, to produce an exciting and uplifting contemporary Folk-Pop-Rock sound. Robbie's catchy songs will get you singing along to their irresistible choruses and are sure to have a lasting effect on you.
Support on the night comes from Joyce The Librarian and Thugs On Wolves.
Joyce the Librarian is a band from Bristol, UK fronted by singer-songwriter Martin Callingham. Recently signed to Folkwit records, their first LP 'They May Put Land Between Us' was released on 5th November 2012. Their sound was described by FFS as 'understated but undeniably beautiful, simple guitars and flashes of cello and trumpet back softly-spoken lyrics.'
And hailing from Greater Manchester, Thugs on Wolves are a 4 piece band committed to providing soul inspiring, heart enchanting music. The songs, reflecting the Thugs' genre spanning influences, create a unique soundscape, built around a hypnagogic timbre. The thought provoking, often enigmatic lyrics provide listeners with a set of stories to find, follow, and enjoy.
