Event information

Cult Media's Live Series presents an event you don't want to miss @ The Portland Arms on Saturday 29th June. 4 of the most beautiful female fronted voices in indie/pop/folk music from across the region.

Featuring: Keltrix, Annie Dressner, Fred's House & Sophie Jamieson

KELTRIX
Alternative freak folkers Keltrix are a female fronted five piece based in Cambridge. Compared to The Pogues with Tori Amos on vocals, and the female Levellers, Keltrix are firm favorites on the UK festival scene and appear regularly at the likes of Bestival, Boomtown Fayre, Secret Garden party, Strawberry Fayre, Sunrise and Knockengorrch to name but a few. Their debut album 'Whilst You're Waiting' was released at a packed out launch party in December 2010 and is available on line @ iTunes, Amazon and Cdbaby. Keltrix are about to embark on a UK tour ' The Off Our Heads Tour 2013' promoting 'The Head EP' taken from the forthcoming album 'Between Storms'

ANNIE DRESSNER
Recently moving from her hometown of New York City to the UK, singer-songwriter, Annie Dressner is about to recently released a new EP titled "East Twenties" (release date: April 8, 2013). Her quirky debut album, "Strangers Who Knew Each Other's Names" (2011) was featured via iTunes. As seen in the reviews, Dressner is making a strong connection with listeners. The collection of 11 original songs at times evokes Bright Eyes, an up-tempo Mazzy Star 'Fade Into You,' or Jenny Lewis.

FRED'S HOUSE
Fred's House are an indie-folk-rock band from Cambridge. Their songs feature boy girl vocals similar to The Civil Wars and Fleetwood Mac. Fred's House have received radio airplay on BBC 6Music and BBC Introducing and have performed at many a summer festival including Secret Garden Party, Cambridge Folk Festival and Bestival. The quartet have also been support for artists such as Eddi Reader, Lucy Rose and The Wonderstuff.

SOPHIE JAMIESON
Sophie tries to paint pictures and atmosphere with words and a delicately-plucked guitar. A sound which began in the conventional female singer-songwriter vein is developing into something more poignant and ethereal. Gigging relentlessly over just 8 months has brought her increasing recognition in London and a signing with Folkroom Records. As well has achieving radio play on BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing Berkshire, Sophie has played live in session for Amazing Radio, Bob's Folk Show, Brooklands Radio and Shoreditch Radio, begun to penetrate the blogosphere and supported Emily and the Woods. Sophie is currently working towards her debut EP to be released in June. More instruments are being introduced, the bass increased, the electrics soaring and lyrics darkening.
