The inimitable Wizz Jones has been a mainstay on the folk scene since its earliest days.
In fact, he helped invent the British acoustic blues style which thousands have been trying to master ever since. His name is spoken alongside such six-string luminaries as Davey Graham, Bert Jansch and John Renbourne.
Meanwhile, Wizz has grown into one of the most sought after performers on today's acoustic stage.
His songwriting, singing and guitar playing have marked him out as one of music's true originals.
This is guaranteed to be a special night for The Rock. For also appearing on the night will be West Yorkshire singer-songwriter Tim Wood, making a welcome return to the area.
His song Freeman, recorded by Halpin and McConville is known by many and will give a taste of the class he brings to the art of producing his own material. This promises to be a night people will talk about for months to come. No support – no need!
