Legendary Sarah Records band warms up for indie tracks!

Now I bought a handful of these songs at the time and am bowled over at just how Scouse this York 3 piece sound! It's got big splashes of The Icicle Works and The Lotus Eaters in there, early Postcard sensitivity, a dash of Felt, a wee smidge of early Pulp and even on some later more accomplished tunes, Cass McCombs yearning, janglesome origins. Someone mentioned Marc almond yesterday. Singer Glenn Melia does touch upon that wavering soul. (Norman Records on the recent Lost At Sea compilation)

Infectious indie pop from up-and-coming guitar outfit. Jangly guitars and great hook are reminiscent of The Kinks and The Wedding Present and the chanting chorus is seriously addictive (The Sun)

The Lieutenant's Mistress

Decent melancholy indie with hints of Morrissey or Lloyd Cole, this northern sound stands out in the south coast musical climate (Latest 7)

These guys have an easy sound with quite a laid back, melodic flavor from guitar that ranges from light rythmical strums to full chordwork and jangles. A trumpet crops up now and then, adding a real touch of class. Drums can add great flare when they want to, and at times bass settles into some slightly Latin sounding grooves, while a whistle creates a carnival feel.(Neon Promotions)
