A programme of music with a Scottish theme to celebrate the Year of the Homecoming, with Ani Batikian (violin). The concert starts at 7.30 in StJames Church, Underwood Road, Paisley, PA3 1TL.
The programme is:
Edward McGuire - Scottish Dances
Alexander Mackenzie - Benedictus
Max Bruch - Scottish Fantasy for Violin and Orchestra
Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture
StAndrew is the Patron Saint of Russia as well as Scotland, so the 1812 Overture celebrates this link between the two countries and is a good piece for a celebration!
The concert will be followed by an opportunity for the audience and orchestra to meet and socialize.
