A gig of two halves at Sheffield's quirky, chilled music venue on December 18th with The Ciderhouse Rebellion, the original folk improvisers followed by an about turn into their alter egos, the gypsy jazz virtuosos: Vagabond.
Audiences across genres consistently describe being carried and transported, often calling their shows the best concerts of their lives. Whether in concert halls, folk festivals, or intimate spaces, the reaction is the same: complete immersion.
“Their innovative and spontaneous performance style has sparked a trend that has seen other artists within the folk scene adopting a similar no-safety-net approach to music-making.” At The Barrier
“Gorgeous stuff” – BBC Radio 3
"Astonishing, all-out virtuosity” - The New York Times
"Free-flowing, ambitious and fiercely creative” - The Strad
“Beautiful" – Songlines
Both Adam (violin) and Murray (accordion) are recognised virtuoso musicians in their own right, touring the world as professional artists. Although the pair only started working together in 2020, they have already released 7 celebrated albums, won Arts Council support, been featured on Folk on Foot, scored a BBC Radio 4 play and played significant festivals across the UK and Europe.
