JazzFactor is a competition for amateur local school-aged jazz musicians. The day-long event will take place on Thursday 01 April in the stunning setting of SAE Oxford between 9.30am and 5.00pm. The competition will be attended by fellow students, parents, families of t!
he musicians and members of the general public. Under 5's welcome to attend for free with a parent or guardian.

Theo Jackson will be treating the audience to a short set during the afternoon lunch break. Theo has a unique but incredibly engaging vocal style swapping between hard bop, edgy crooner, heart rending ballad and foot tapping swing.

Theo studied music and composition at Durham University, majoring in voice under the tutelage of New York's (USA) Sandi Russell and studying jazz vocals and piano with Ian Shaw. Theo performs regularly throughout London's clubs and jazz hot spots and has recently moved with his partner to Oxford, where he also plays and sings with a variety of local and national musicians as well as his own band. Today, we welcome Theo in trio form playing Fender Rhodes and singing with regular bass guitarist Giazonne Reyes and top drummer Frank Hockney.

Theo has recently released his first album on his own label which features the above mentioned trio plus Quentin Collins (trumpet) and Brandon Allen (sax).
