Monkey Wrench, a new monthly extravaganza of unusual music continues on Friday, March 19, 2010 @ Santiago’s (1 Grand Arcade, City Centre, Leeds LS1 6PG) and every 3rd Saturday after. This time featuring Paul Green, Nadine Khouri, Johnston and Urban Geisha and Seth Cooke with visuals by Caroline Donut. Afterwards there will be DJing till 3am from Grovsoper and Paizan. Doors at 8pm. £5 on door or £3 in advance or concessions. Get ready!
Paul Green – Manchester electronic maestro. Imagine Kraftwerk if someone spiked their punch with absinthe, and you’re halfway there.
NadineKhouri – London-based Lebanese singer/songwriter influenced by themes of displacement, with elements of experimentation and epic proportions.

Jonstun and Urban Geisha – Jonstun & Urban Geisha is a collaboration between Ukranian-born, Newcastle based DJ Urban Geisha and electronic band Jonstun. Their music has been described as “a velvet fist in an iron glove” and compared to Massive Attack and Portishead by ‘Metro’, due to their blend of ambient trip-hop with “experimental guitars, scratchy samples and laconic vocals”.
Seth Cooke – Leeds-based solo electronics and percussion improviser.
