A group of extraordinary women, members of a very ordinary Yorkshire WI, spark a global phenomenon by persuading one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference! As interest snowballs, the Calendar Girls find themselves revealing more than they'd ever planned.

A very British story, with a very British heart, Calendar Girls is based on an uplifting and inspiring true story that is both poignant and hilarious.

The idea for an alternative WI calendar was first suggested as a way to raise money for the hospital where Miss February’s husband was being treated for cancer. He joked they would never do it - they were “all talk”.

After his death, the women decided to take the plunge and bare all for the calendar - they had no idea of the media sensation they would create. The original calendar sold nearly 250,000 copies, more than Cindy Crawford and Britney Spears!
