Modern Cautionary Tales for Children II features a hilarious mix of rock n roll poetry, stand up and story telling together with a healthy dollop of shhh panto. Children dancing on stage get seriously involved in live interactive poetry in a raucous, silly, saucy, funny, poignant and enlightening hour of merriment and mayhem. Whether your six or sixty you'll love this show which proves without a doubt that poetry can be fun, thought provoking and occasionally quite cool!
Modern Cautionary Tales for Children II is written and performed by Murray Lachlan Young – one of the UK's foremost performance poets, 6 Music Poet in Residence and a regular fixture on BBC Radio 4's SATURDAY LIVE – and is directed by Paul Jepson
Reviews & Reaction to MCTFC I:
"Who'd have thought it .The big bad boy of performance poetry turns out to be one of the greatest children's entertainers I have ever seen. There is not a patronising nanosecond in this show - children and 'ex-children' are treated exactly alike, so children and 'ex-children' enjoy it alike. Go on, practice your animal noises and give yourself some fun!"
THE SCOTSMAN, FIVE STARS
“I entrusted Murray Lachlan Young with my most precious possession in the world, my six year old god-daughter Lois, and watched as he put the biggest smile on her face I’ve ever seen. All children’s shows should be like this – dark and light, mysterious and understandable, magical and ordinary. And adults forget they’re not themselves children. Best children’s show there is? No. Best show there is, period.”
