Treehouse is a new kind of chamber jazz. Imagine all the virtuosity and interplay of three of the country’s top young jazz musicians in a crystal-clear ensemble, with a rich, acoustic sound. Leader and pianist Tom Hewson’s compositions, in the hands of Lewis Wright (MOBO winner with UK jazz supergroup Empirical) and Tim Farmer (also from Empirical) take in influences such as Dave Holland, Paul Bley and Jimmy Giuffre, but also give a nod to his classical roots.
