Event information

programme to include

BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 9 (Choral)
Conductor: Mark Shanahan

Considered by critics to be one of his masterpieces and one of the greatest works ever written, Beethoven’s final symphony is performed every year at the BBC Proms. When the piece ended at its première in 1824 the audience erupted in celebration, although as Beethoven was completely deaf by then he couldn’t hear the cheers. We hope there will be plenty of cheers after our performance, as it is such a fantastic piece to see and hear performed live!
