'MR HAYDN GOES TO OXFORD'

A musical entertainment for piano, soprano and tenor, devised by Piers Burton-Page.
Whilst in England Haydn was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Music by the University of Oxford.
This programme takes as its theme Haydn's visit to Oxford to receive the degree and gives an account of the visit in words and music, including some of the music which was performed whilst he was in Oxford.

Herr Haydn will tell his own engaging story, in English, through the person of the suitably be-wigged David Gooderson.

His story is interspersed with delightful music from the time.
