ERRORS
Errors are a 4 piece band from Glasgow, Scotland formed in 2004. Not long after their inception they were taken under the wing of Mogwai who signed them to their Rock Action label alongside the likes of Part Chimp and James Orr Complex. Two critically acclaimed albums and a string of EPs followed which saw Errors tour extensively with bands as varied as Underworld, Franz Ferdinand, Explosions in the Sky, Gary Numan and Mogwai.
Now After a brief but hugely-influential time away Errors return with ‘Have Some Faith In Magic,’ on Rock Action Records; their third album, it counts as far and away their greatest shift in sound yet, heralding in a sound of serenely cosmo-gazing sugar-tipped pop; previously hinted at with Spring single ‘Magna Encarta,’ a further preview is provided with free download ‘Earthscore.’ Errors’ fans have long had their faith rewarded by the band; their third album only looks set to continue that trend.
"Come Down With Me has solidified the band as their own entity; it has forged all of the disparate pieces of the past into something evergreen. There is no inclination to pander to any preconceptions of yore and this has now, undoubtedly, made Errors the force they always threatened to be." - Drowned in Sound

FREE SCHOOL DJS
Bringing the sunny Balearic sounds of summer and the icy kosmiche sounds of winter to a venue near you, Free School are maximalist and minimalist all at once. But in a good way. Free School have been putting together a live show to win the hearts and minds of….well, people like you. Yes, you. Taking retro-futurist disco as a starting point, Free School have fused together electro, house, Balearic, and kosmiche to arrive at "a new sound….one that’s never been heard before….".* They may or may not be wearing masks of lamb.**.
Following DJ supports for Mark E and Discomendments, Free School have recently released their debut EP on Tirk Records (Fujiya & Miyagi, Chicken Lips, New Young Pony Club). The ‘Ranting & Raving’ EP features the title track, the 10-minute epic ‘Lemon’ and remixes by Richard Norris’s Time & Space Machine and Russian cosmonaut Sportloto.
Compared to Caribou, Orbital and Lindstrom. Think Hot Chip. Think Four Tet. Think Pet Shop Boys. The first and latter without the vocals. The middle one with more oomph. Fewer men than the first. More men than the middle one.
*Quote not actually said in reference to Free School. But it does feature in one of their songs, so the point stands.
**Not actual lamb. They’re made of some sort of rubber/latex composite. But they look like lamb, so the point stands.
