Three great acts in one night... don't miss the most Jazzy lineup !
Acker Bilk, British Clarinetist, one of the most famous Jazz musicians in the world, who adores the sound of traditional New Orleans Jazz. He had a world wide hit in 1961 - "Stranger on the Shore"; believe it or not, Acker and his band were already well known in the US before the Beatles. In March 2001 Acker was honoured with an MBE for his services to the music industry. In 2005, Acker was awarded both the BBC Jazz Award for his unique contribution to Jazz in the UK.
On this evening, you will experience a live Traditional Jazz concert by Acker Bilk and His Paramount Jazz Band - a show that you must see at least once in your life! At the age of 83, Acker is still playing music up and down the country, and many of his shows have been sold out!
It will be the ultimate night of British Jazz, a night of nostalgia and a night of memories. The event will be hosted by Greg Butler, owner of the largest 78s shellac record collection in this country. Don't miss your chance to hear some of his collections during the intervals!
Melody Room Jazz Band will also be the special guests for the evening - the best Jazz band in the area.
