Event information

Drifter Promotions and Ark PR are proud to bring you two of the finest underground folk singers currently on the scene in the UK. This is a co-headline show.

BENJAMIN FOLKE THOMAS - Starting his musical career as drummer in a grunge band his life was transformed when he heard Kurt Cobain singing ‘In The Pines’ on the Unplugged record. Steeping himself in Leadbelly, Bob Dylan, and Leonard Cohen, by the age of 20 he was an accomplished finger-picker, confident performer, and mature songwriter. Jaded Londoners didn’t know what had hit them when they first heard songs like ‘Paradise Lost (Heaven Found)’, and saw this robust performer with a stage presence recalling the Bob Dylan of two decades ago.

"Stands out like Oliver Reed at an AA meeting"
Will Hodgkinson, The Guardian

"Captures the spirit of Greenwich Village ca 1965...A convincing calling card"
Stuart Lee, The Sunday Times

TRENT MILLER - Born and raised near Turin, but based in London for some years now, Miller is strongly influenced by legendary 80s performers like Jeffrey Lee Pierce of The Gun Club and Guy Kyser of Thin White Rope (he contributed a version of ‘Timing’ to the TWR tribute album Hidden Desert), while Fear Of Flyin’, one of the album’s highlights, pays tribute to another hero Gene Clark. Miller’s has received substantial press coverage and airplay, including Cerys Matthews on BBC 6 Music.
