Event information

Telling The Bees purvey a uniquely dark and mysterious brand of traditional music that ripples with an elemental spirit and sensuality. Andy Letcher's compositions reflect a lifetime submerged in the music and landscapes of England, while the band's arrangements are capable of communicating the ecstatic and revelatory whether reflecting the most intimate or expansive experiences.
Sieben is the name under which Matt Howden creates and performs pulsating, passionate music all sourced from a single violin. An upbringing in a household full of traditional music has given him a strong sense of narrative whilst over 1000 shows have honed a propulsive and dynamic stage presence. A stunning musician, not to be missed.
Also on the bill are Garforth and Myers, The Third Half, and The SIlver Darlings in an afternoon packed with beautiful music.
This celebration of summer takes places in the courtyard of the former cutlery factory, Sterling Works, which now houses the Freeman College. The event is part of a broader celebration of the creative impulse the college brings to the city through its arts and crafts based therepeutic educational programmes for young adults with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, and a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties.
Organic food and refreshments prepared by students of the college will be available, as will many examples of the amazing work created by the students. There will be the chance to see demonstrations of many of the traditional arts and crafts taught at the college, and hopefully an opportunity to have a go at some of them.
