Up until now, our guest DJs have just been our friends with cool record collections - we're lucky that those friends happen to be the likes of Debbie Smith, Bob Stanley, Jon Slade, Stephanie Goodman and Declan Allen, excellent DJs and all legends in our eyes.
So when Jo emailed to ask if we'd like to her to come and play some records for us, it felt like a watershed moment. A northern soul DJ of some 35 years standing, Jo's seen and done it all - she's DJ-ed at the 6Ts nights at the 100 Club, Cleethorpes and Prestatyn northern soul weekends, Glastonbury festival, Andy Smith's Jam Up Twist, Ibiza Love Soul, the list goes on and on. Not only that she compiled four CDs in the Soul Satisfaction series for Motown - CDs, coincidentally, which taught us a lot about northern soul.
Let me write that again. She compiled four CDs for Motown. Fucking hell.
So, yes, we're very pleased and honoured to welcome Jo as our guest DJ this month. I've got a feeling this is going to be a good one....
