Kit Downes Quintet
At once both dark and detailed, colourful and chaotic, the Quintet is a new project from pianist and composer Kit Downes, with Calum Gourlay (bass), James Maddren (drums), Lucy Railton (cello) and James Allsopp (bass clarinet).

Musically placing itself between an unsettling dream of an abandoned pirate ship and the confusion of an unmanned pet-shop, the band have enjoyed many excursions to Europe and beyond (such as Jazz Festivals in London, Trondheim, Tel Aviv and Bremen Jazzahead) and are set to be release a new album in 2012 on the Basho label.
