Kero Kero Bonito- Electro dance, think New Order via Underworld, with a few quirky dub-step touches, nicely nicely.. White Ape- splice the mainbrace nautical rocknroll with rancid post punk elements, some Cave-ish quarters, a singer who sounds like Sean Ryder on a punky tip and the occasinal foray into drrty cod reggae. Fantastic! Japanese Fighting Fish- The Pop Group and there's other post punk influences on show here, Joy Div. PIL, Bauhaus... good stuff, malevolent snarling vocals, dirty cyclical guitars, rolling drums. Control- A six string bass manipulator and a wild but rock solid drummer make up this math rock rollercoaster, imagine Lightning Bolt with a funk undertow and touches of prog.
