Join Shrag for the launch of new single Show us your Canines from their (not dissimilarly titled) upcoming album Canines on Fortuna POP!/WIAIWYA.
Shrag
Renowned for the energy and vitality of their live shows, Shrag offer an exhilarating blend of dirty, distorted post-punk guitars, shouty riot grrl-style vox and fantastic pop songs, alongside nods to everyone from Le Tigre to Penetration. Their debut album garnered comparisons to Love is All, Gang of Four and B-52s, and led to a UK tour supporting The Cribs, appearances at both London Popfest and Indietracks festivals, and several sessions for Marc Riley on BBC 6music as well as a Maida Vale session for BBC Radio 1. Their second album Life! Death! Prizes! was released on WIAWYA Records in October 2010 and was as equally acclaimed as its predecessor, garnering accolades from Pitchfork, the Daily Mirror, Artrocker, and Allmusic amongst many others. Hotly anticipated third album Canines will be released in July 2012 via Fortuna POP! (Crystal Stilts, Herman Dune, Comet Gain, Allo Darlin) and WIAIWYA.
"A spectacularly bitter indie girls-set-on-stun dual vocal attack, in what is one of the better bands to juxtapose schmindie twee and angered literary abstraction since 1990s unsung legends Prolapse." (The Guardian)

Evans the Death
Evans the Death, who have just released their critically acclaimed debut album on Fortuna POP! and Slumberland records, make frenetic and infectious punk pop which exudes the kind of unbridled charisma, intelligence, and runaway energy that promises a singularly exciting future for the band. Comprising Dan Moss (guitar, vocals), Olly Moss (guitar), Katherine Whitaker (vocals, keys), Rob Mitson (drums), and Lan McArdle (bass), and named after the undertaker in Dylan Thomas's Under Milk Wood, Evans the Death are poised to fulfill their potential as one of the most refreshing and exhilarating new groups around.
You can imagine Jarvis Cocker and Kate Jackson smiling beatifically at the thought of their music birthing Evans the Death. The quintets debut is a scrappy yet romantic proposition, like greasy chips for two at 4am. But its smart and gutsy too...(they) manage to make humdrum everyday experience sound quite magical (Q Magazine)

Ace Bushy Striptease
Birminghams Ace Bushy Striptease make insanely infectious, fast, bouncy, joyous punkpop, which has led to the band being variously described as " an odd mix of the Wedding Present and the Lovely Eggs, by parts classic indie, and by parts the hyperactive theme tune to a childrens television programme gone horribly wrong." (Song By Toad), "the musical equivalent of a macaroni collage that's been smeared with glitter" (Kill The Outlaws), and "this generation's Beatles" (The Line Of Best Fit).
