Heads South's music combines Cuban and latin rhythms with tuneful melody in an enticing repertoire of new compositions and innovative arrangements of classic tunes. The band's reputation has grown fast in their relatively short existence.
The line-up features top UK jazz trumpeter Steve Waterman, Cuban percussionist Chino Martell Morgan, Uruguayan bassist Andres Lafone, drummer Buster Birch and pianist-composer John Harriman.
"... compositions and keyboard playing combine with trumpet to create a spare, crisp, invigorating set of latin jazz ... Waterman's mastery of this idiom suits Harriman's deceptively simple melodies to perfection" The Observer
