Chris Biscoe is a familiar figure in British Jazz, having had a long association with the Mike Westbrook Trio & Big Band, playing frequently with figures like Toni Kofi, Liam Noble and numerous others.

Here he joins up for the third time with a small ensemble that treads a slightly different path, exploring a very different side of his playing. The quartet features the dynamic young French bassist Guillaume Viltard, who merges a very physical & dramatic style with burst of intensely emotional sound. Playing alongside Chris Biscoe the clarinet playing of Noel Taylor tends to provide teasing fragments of counterpoint and sudden pockets of lyricism at the same time as exploring texture and mood with Viltard and the excellent percussion of the one and only Terry Day
