Band Of Holy Joy
One of the many classic indiepop bands conceived in the Eighties, South London's Band Of Holy Joy have been described as "pop deviants inside the urban wasteland", with good reason. Their gloriously romantic blend of indie, folk and the blood red poetry of singer Johny Brown drew comparisons to Bertolt Brecht and Jacques Brel, while their 1989 Rough Trade album, "Manic Magic Majestic", remains a landmark recording for fans of outsider art you can dance to.
