The Henry Girls

The Henry Girls are fast becoming one of the most talked about folk/roots acts to come out of Ireland in the last decade, and within a few years have developed a growing international profile from touring in Europe, North America and further afield. Hailing from County Donegal, these three sisters blend classic Traditional Irish trad with a hint of Americana, and a nod to bluegrass. The girls are renowned for their fine close harmonies and musical arrangements, and have been likened to many other harmonising siblings such as The McGarrigle Sisters, The Andrews Sisters and The Everly Brothers.
They have been playing and writing together for more than a decade and Karen, Lorna and Joleen now have four albums to their credit. Their most recent (‘December Moon’ August 2011) has been the release that has won them most attention. The trio have been invited as special guests to join the Altan & Friends show being staged on the main stage of Glasgow Royal Concert Hall at Celtic Connections in 2013.
