HENRY SPENCER AND JUNCTURE – young eclectic originals quintet encompassing a vast range of genres such as jazz, rock and minimalism, led by trumpeter/composer HENRY SPENCER and winner of the ‘Best Newcomer Award at the Marlborough Jazz Festival - HENRY SPENCER trumpet, NICK COSTLEY-WHITE guitar, ROB BROCKWAY piano, ANDREW ROBB bass & DAVID INGAMELLS drums. All the members of the band met while studying on the four-year jazz course at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. As a result there is a high level of musical understanding and interaction between the musicians. In performance, the emphasis is very much on using technical facility to promote creative and, significantly, emotional expression, rather than merely displaying technical or academic accomplishment.
