Event information

Part of a lineage of uniquely talented musicians, Roger Eno is a natural multi-instrumentalist. Tonight he performs new material on piano and accordion with moving visual art.

He moves effortlessly through his pieces, barely taking a breath between his own pastoral, minimalist style, and into Gypsy, blues, folk, jazz with classical impressionistic elements. His performances are immensely enjoyable, fun, rich and deceptively simple.

Fascinated by sound, stories and landscapes - the legacy of his unique upbringing with his Flemish mother in the Suffolk countryside - he has exhibited sound work at Tate Britain and this year alongside some of the Young British Artists at Snap: Aldeburgh Festival, as well as in California and closer to home in Ipswich and Norwich.

Roger's first professional recording was as co-writer with Brian and Daniel Lanois on Apollo:Soundtracks & Atmospheres 30 years ago. His compositions have featured in several films, including Dune, Nine and a Half Weeks, Trainspotting, Dario Argento's Opera, The Jacket and Warm Summer Rain. He was BAFTA nominated for his work for Danny Boyle's 'Mr Wroe's Virgins', wrote the theatrical score for Trevor Nunn's NT production of Betrayal and scored a series of strange, avant garde Guinness commercials featuring Rutger Hauer.

Roger has two albums out in 2013 a concept album ʻTed Sheldrakeʼ with
www.backwaterrecords.com and also ʻEndless City/Concrete Gardenʼ a second collaboration with New Yorkʼs Plumbline with Hydrogen Duke Box Records.
