Paul Cox’s Soul Intention celebrate their 20th birthday and the launch of The Venue by reliving the glory of soul with the best of Otis Redding, Eddie Floyd, Jackie Wilson, The O’Jays, Bobby Womack, Sam & Dave, Bobby Parker, Joe Tex, Solomon Burke and The Temptations etc.

Paul Cox has for long been regarded as one of Europe’s greatest soul and blues singers, a fact finally recognised when he was given his own one hour special on Radio 2. His colourful career has included the chart topping acapella/rock & roll band Darts, Frankie Miller, Fire & Water, Eric Clapton, as well as three appearances with the legendary Ray Charles at Royal Festival Hall and the Montreux Jazz festival.
Paul finally cut his own debut album in 2000, called ‘Ain’t Nothing Doing’, but it’s playing with his own big band with a full horn section that Paul loves best.

‘We don’t get to play as often as we would like because there are so many conflicting dates in the diary, but we knew we were fast approaching the 20th anniversary of Soul Intention, so we all aimed to clear the decks and do this tour’.

With a line-up that includes the powerful Soul Intention horns and a band featuring members of Georgie Fame, Procol Harum, Gary Moore and Buddy Whittington, a grand launch bash is guaranteed for all.
To supplement this amazing show there’ll also be a disco playing the best old soul you could ever desire.
