THE MALLAZ PRESENTS... SHOWCASE EVENT
Mallaz presents a showcase event at The Cluny on Friday 9th August 2013 featuring several highly talented and unsigned acts from both the North East and further afield. Advance tickets for the Mallaz presents... Showcase Event are exclusively available for ONLY ONE POUND, plus booking fee, from the official Mallaz We Got Tickets page at www.wegottickets.com/Mallaz and on the door admission will be charged at only £2.50.
The artists currently confirmed to perform at the Mallaz presents... Showcase Event at The Cluny on Friday 9th August include Alternative Rock act Artisam and Funk band Gingersnap & The Style Pile, both of Newcastle, and Indie Rock act Black Sonic Revolver of Manchester. The Mallaz presents... Showcase Event on Friday 9th August will also double up as an early start on the birthday celebrations for Black Sonic Revolver's frontman Leon, who takes another step towards pension age the following day.

ARTISAM
Stalwarts of the Newcastle live music scene Artisam formed in 2009 and have since seen many comings and goings within the band's line up. Core pair George Marcos Laybourne and Cam Martin are the only consistent element of the now four-piece Alternative Rock act.
Artisam's instantly recognisable sound is a formulation of musical works created acoustically by George over the last decade and developed to be performed with a full band set up. Along with the other two members of Artisam, Gary Glendinning and Richie Crozier, George and Cam have performed at many of the region's venues over the years and this year Artisam have self-released The Rising EP for free download via their official website.
Artisam are an act with a bit of history and a longstanding good relationship with Mallaz after having performed at events with Mallaz and his old band during 2011 and performing at Mallaz' first independently organised live music event early in 2012 before performing at several more throughout the course of the year prior to the official formation of Mallaz presents.

BLACK SONIC REVOLVER
Manchester-based five-piece outfit Black Sonic Revolver are an Indie Rock band with a psychedelic twist. Black Sonic Revolver were founded by singer-guitarist Leon James Kenny in 2012 and have since gone on to perform at many venues in Manchester and the surrounding area. Since forming, Black Sonic Revolver have shared stages with several famous faces from the Manchester and Brit-Pop music scene; including Tom Hingley of Inspiral Carpets fame, John Power of The La's and Cast and Chris Helme of The Seahorses. The band line up was completed earlier in 2013 and Black Sonic Revolver formally launched themselves into the music industry with their debut EP I Always Knew It, released in May.
The Mallaz presents... Showcase Event on Friday 9th August, the day before frontman Leon's birthday, will be Black Sonic Revolver's first performance in Newcastle and also mark guitarist Kevin Rochford's return to his native North East with Kev being better known locally for his role as frontman of South Tyneside's Clint, a firm Mallaz presents favourite.
Black Sonic Revolver are set to be the first non-North East act to perform at a Mallaz presents event and are the first of two Manchester based acts set to perform at Mallaz presents events over the summer of 2013, with Big Unit confirmed to headline a Mallaz presents event at Think Tank? Hoults Yard on Saturday 7th September.

GINGERSNAP AND THE STYLE PILE
Gingersnap and The Style Pile are a Newcastle based six-piece Funk act with Reggae and Ska influences incorporated into their sound. Formed late in 2011 as a five-piece group, Gingersnap and The Style Pile performed on The Green Stage at Newcastle's Green Festival in the summer of 2012.
Last year saw Gingersnap and The Style Pile billed highly at The Egg and they also performed at several other Mallaz presents events throughout last year. They have previously supported Head Of Light Entertainment at The Cluny 2 as well as supporting local heavyweights Big Beat Bronson at sold out events at both The Cluny 2 and The Bridge Hotel.
The band took a break from performing live late in 2012 to accommodate additions to their line-up and allow for the writing, arranging and recording of Days Behind, their debut EP. Following another performance at a Mallaz presents event supporting Beth Macari at Think Tank? in May this year, Gingersnap and The Style Pile are currently preparing for a big summer in 2013 which will include the release of the EP and live performances at Solfest and Wallsend Festival.
The title track from the EP was recently aired by a seemingly impressed Nick Roberts on BBC Newcastle and Days Behind is scheduled for release in August.
