The Hive Project at the Yard Theatre hosts an evening of jazz - or is it 'not jazz'? Some of London's foremost exponents of improvised & experimental music will gather together for an extraordinary, pulsating evening.
SUM are Ross Lambert - guitar, Seymour Wright - sax, and Eddie Prévost on drums. Prévost has a prominent place in the history of experimental music, continually fostering new talents through his London workshop and inundiminished demand as a performer around the world.
Maciej Nowotny writes of Splatter:
""The music reminds me of a controlled explosion, yet this is an explosion that does not destroy anything at all but, on the contrary, creates one of the most astonishing musical worlds I've heard recently! Marvelously paradoxical: it manages to be coherent, spontaneous and well thought-out yet at the same time it is completely improvised."
Splatter are:
Anna Kaluza - sax
Noel Taylor - clarinet
Pedro Velasco - guitar
Tom Greenhalgh - drums
Finally - as if that isn't enough excitement for one evening - the great Steve Beresford pairs up his outrageously abrasive electronics with the equally unrestrained Roberto Sassi on guitar, accompanied by Terry Day of the People Band on drums.
